The Dripping Springs Lady Basketball Club is ‘playing the long game’ for athletes with skill development being the primary focus. The emphasis is on dribbling, shooting, pass/catch, cuts, making reads, footwork, moving smoothly and in rhythm, and competition drills placed in a high practice-to-game ratio format. Technique over outcome in the early ages is an investment which pays dividends in the later years (for example, in the pre high school developmental years a missed shot with proper form is better than a made shot with bad form, then one day athletes will be proficient at making tough shots in games).
Private Skills Coaching
Sessions are available to 4th-12th graders and are a minimum of 1 hour. Days and times are flexible to accommodate athlete busy schedules. Coach Meyers travels to the athlete...workouts are most often on outdoor courts convenient to the athlete (e.g., athlete’s driveway, amenity court, public court, etc.). Coach Meyers has portable lights so after dark workouts are feasible. Sessions are $25 in the Dripping Springs ISD though may be more outside the ISD to cover extra commuting cost.

Team Seasons
Spring or Fall seasons typically last 8 to 10 weeks, have practice 2 days a week, and play in Austin area tournaments. Practice locations are in the Dripping Springs area and specific gyms vary from season-to-season based on gym availability.
Mini series
Pay-by-the-week skills development clinics for a group of athletes are offered in the summer or may also be requested throughout the year.
The ultimate mission is to develop complete players ready for high school competition. Complete players have skill AND can make reads.
Skills: Learned techniques which allow the athlete to perform deliberately and proficiently.
Reads: It's about situational awareness...read the opponent and/or understanding schemes to create an outcome (not simply responding to situations).
Player development is a continuous journey to improve technique and strategically apply in more and more sophisticated applications.

Motivation
Coach Meyers started the club to develop kids, teach athletes, and help players achieve their goals. The sporting theater is an amazing space. It’s an intriguing journey in a never-ending quest for excellence involving the inner workings of athlete, coach, and team. Off the court there is a desire to be a known neighbor in the local community and a contributing member in the basketball community.
